What is a charter or community school?
Charter schools, which are often called community schools in Ohio, are free public schools that are independent of any school district and are open to all children, including students who are English language learners and students with special needs. Charter schools do not have special entrance requirements. Charter schools receive flexibility in operations in exchange for being held accountable for student performance.

Is there tuition?
No, charter schools are publicly funded and do not require tuition from families.

Who can attend a charter school?
As public schools, charter schools accept all students living within their attendance boundaries, including students with special needs and English learners. Students are admitted through a random, public lottery.

Is ReGeneration Schools a for-profit?
No. ReGeneration Schools is a not-for-profit because we deeply believe that our children need each and every penny of funding in the classroom. We do not have any for-profit affiliates selling curriculum or other services, either.

What are the school uniform requirements?
ReGen Bond Hill has the following requirements for school uniforms: 

• Uniform shirts - Scholars are required to wear a navy ReGeneration polo. We provide each family with one free shirt. Each additional shirt costs $14.  
• Uniform pants - Scholars are required to wear navy or khaki pants. You can purchase them from any store.  
• Uniform shoes - Scholars are required to wear brown or black shoes. You can purchase them from any store.

We have scholarships available for families who need assistance to purchase uniforms. For additional information able school uniforms and gym uniforms, please visit the "Family Information" section on the Bond Hill page.

How do you order additional ReGeneration polo shirts?
You can pick them up at the school. If you are unable to do so, we can work with you to have them sent to you. To order a uniform shirt, please contact Carissa Derisso at 513-216-9310.

Polos must be purchased through the school; all other required uniforms items can be purchased at your store of choice.

Are masks provided to students on-campus?
Yes, each child is given a new mask daily.

Can a parent choose virtual learning for their child?
This is decided on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to your individual campus for additional information.

You currently offer only grades K-3. Do you plan on expanding?
At ReGeneration, we start small with one or two grades at a time in order to build community. We add another class every year until we are a fully grown K-4 elementary school.

Do families need to purchase school supplies?
We provide all families and scholars with the school supplies they need.

How will scholars with diverse learning needs be supported?
Students with IEPs will be supported with their accommodations and modifications through their classes by their Special Education teacher. They will also have modifications made to their work as well as opportunities for tutoring and individual support to work on IEP goals.

Related service providers (speech pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and paraprofessionals) will continue to hold sessions with students. We are committed to supporting all students and meeting their needs.

What if I think my child needs an IEP?
If you think your child might have a disability and require an IEP, the first step is to reach out to your school's Case Manager. Your school leader can put you in contact with the school's Case Manager. ReGeneration Schools is following all applicable federal and state laws.
