Darryl Patteson
Darryl Patteson is a native of Central Pennsylvania who studied Mathematics and Journalism at Syracuse University before moving to Chicago as part of Teach For America's Chicago Corps to teach Geometry on the West Side. Over the course of the next seven years, Darryl honed his skills in math classrooms across the city, teaching everything from Algebra 1 to Pre-Calculus, landing at Gary Comer College Prep in the Noble Schools in 2012. In his time at Noble, Darryl worked on curriculum design teams, assessment writing teams and worked with a multitude of teachers as an instructional coach. He spent 3.5 years as an Assistant Principal before rising to Principal. In all of his leadership roles, Darryl has focused extensively on developing teachers to drive the best possible results for the scholars in every classroom in the building. He joined CICS Avalon in 2023 to focus on creating an excellent culture and further build the academic programs for the staff and scholars.
