Derrell Melton

Derrell Melton joins ReGeneration Middle School with a deep commitment to student success and a wealth of experience in operations, academics and leadership. His journey in education has been multifaceted, serving a decade in NYC as a STEAM Teacher, Operations Manager, Academic Dean, Dean of Students, and Principal in Residence before stepping into his current role.

In his second year as Principal, Derrell is dedicated to advancing the school’s three core priorities:

Derrell’s leadership is rooted in a belief that all students can achieve at high levels when provided with the right support and high expectations. He is excited to lead ReGeneration Middle School in another year of double digit gains; and into the next phase, ensuring that students, staff, and families experience a culture of learning, belonging, and excellence.
