Associate Chief Operating Officer
Jesse Uggla
As Associate Chief Operating Officer, Jesse Uggla directly manages the Directors of Operations at each ReGen campus in Chicago and Cincinnati to ensure students, teachers, and leaders have the conditions to grow and thrive. In addition to optimizing school-level operations, he is working at the network level to improve attendance systems, increase student and family engagement, and provide greater enrichment opportunities for the communities Regen serves.
After graduating from Macalester College with a passion for pursuing social justice, Jesse joined Teach for America and served for three years as an elementary teacher and leader in the community of Little Haiti in Miami, Florida. With a growing passion for urban education and a desire to broaden his impact, he enrolled at the Harvard Graduate School of Education where he earned a Master’s degree in School Leadership and received the prestigious Urban Scholars award. Jesse then joined the Achievement First network serving in roles ranging from ELA teacher to principal where he co-founded two high performing middle schools and proudly witnessed his 8th graders perform at the 98th percentile on their math and ELA state exams.
After 15 wonderful years in Brooklyn, Jesse and his wife decided to move to Chicago with their two children to be closer to family. He is thrilled for the opportunity to work alongside other amazing leaders to drive even stronger results for the students and families that ReGeneration Schools serve.
