Mitch Elatkin
Mitch is a native of the Chicago suburbs and has wanted to lead a life in education since seven years old. An undergraduate in special education from Illinois State University, he spent the early parts of his career working in the suburbs of Chicago across various disability populations. In 2008, he joined Golder College Prep, part of the Noble schools, where he was a learning specialist and case manager. Mitch joined KIPP New Orleans in 2013 as an assistant principal of student services. His leadership journey took him to KIPP Texas Public Schools, where he served as a regional director of student services, program manager of RTI, 504, and dyslexia, and ultimately the managing director of special populations before joining ReGeneration Schools in 2024. Mitch is working on his doctorate in special education from his alma mater, Illinois State University, with research interests in co-teaching and inclusive mindsets. Lastly, he is part of the 2025 cohort of the Pahara Fellowship, a highly selective fellowship for education leaders nationwide.
